Yes, we can see patients without the need to see a dentist first. As Registered Dental Hygienists, we are licensed oral health professionals who can provide a variety of services, including teeth cleaning, oral exams, and dental x-rays. We are also trained to recognize oral health issues that may need to be referred to a dentist for further evaluation and treatment. In some cases, a dentist may need to evaluate a patient before allowing us to proceed with certain procedures, such as deep cleaning, scaling and root planning. We have different options including a fluoride rinse, fluoride trays, and fluoride varnish. We also have fluoride alternatives, please discuss with your dental hygienist the best option for you.
